Blog #7 Projects at Palugo

Sophia, Lucy, Marcela, and Savanah working on the mural in the milking room

Are we in the Jungle yet? No, but tomorrow we will be! As we gracefully returned from expedition we immediately slipped into peaceful solitude. We packed our tarps and oversized zucchinis and headed to our individual solo spots. For three days and three nights of the brilliant burning sun to stormy thunderous nights, we each were truly alone—excluding some cows gently grazing nearby. We returned as one- silent and wiser.

Then, we dove right into projects making Palugo’s ground shine. Some of us painted a mesmerizing mural in the milking room. How spoiled are those cows? We built chicken coops for all those tasty chickens, made signs to help you navigate the grounds, and we also made a glorious pond within the gardens. This magnificent body of water will serve as a cold, sweet release after a sweat lodge (which we are also building). As we feel our bodies strengthen for the intense excitement of the jungle, we feel our beautiful final moments drawing near. Our semester has flourished and we thank all who have supported and flourished with us as well.

Thank you.
